About my IBM Pins and this Site "www.mypins.de"

It must have been in the late 1980s when I got my first IBM pins. As far as I remember these must have been some OS/2 pins. I enjoyed these little colored items and stored them in a box somewhere in a drawer of my business cabinet. After getting more my interest grew. I started to group and organise them. From that day on I let others know that my passion started to burn and that I am interested in finding more. Over the time I started some trades by swapping a few so that my collection continued to grow.

Some day I developed a small database to manage my pins - programming can be fun too. The big disadvantage was that the pin information could not be shared. With the spreading of the internet technology I thought about programming a personal homepage so that others can see my collection. Ok - not many are interested in this, but - as I said before - programming is also fun. It took several evenings (and nights) in selfstudying and experimenting to create this - the homepage of My Private IBM Pin Collection. The site www.mypins.de/ibm was launched on 28th of February 2000.

In the meantime the third version of my homepage is online, now called the IBM Pin Museum. Enjoy it!
